Kevin Love was awarded the Kia Most Improved Player for the 2010-2011 season. Not bad for a guy who was snubbed in his rookie season’s All-Star Rookie Challenge.

Minnesota’s double-double machine compiled the following stats in his 3rd season out of UCLA: about 20 points, 15 boards, 64 double-double games, a 47% shooting clip from the field, 85% clip from the line and he made nearly 42% of his three-pointers. Phew! He also started all the games where he played, and had a streak of 53 straight double-doubles. In short, this guy was a monster, albeit a Love-able one. Pun there, you see?

The former Team USA player, Laker (in HS), and Bruin definitely had a breakout year, and it won’t be a surprise if he becomes an early pick in next year’s fantasy leagues. But perhaps the highlight of his season, aside from this award, would be his 31-point, 31-rebound performance against the New York Knicks last November.
Here’s to hoping I can draft him in at least one of my leagues next year. Cheers to you Dr. Love!
