- Iran had to go through a tight first half before destroying the Malaysians in the 3rd stanza. Iran is certainly a different team without its top wingmen, but they still mustered enough to pull this one through.
- Credit should be given to Malaysia for being able to stick with the defending FIBA-Asia Champions for 20 minutes. Despite their winless record, the Malaysians have garnered great experience here, which should help them in the upcoming SEA Games.
- Iran ties the Philippines at 3-2 while Malaysia drops to 0-5.

Asghar Kardoust had another good showing against Malaysia.

- The biggest upset of the tournament yet. Japan, sans its top-tier players, was able to use quickness, superb shooting and scrappy defense to disrupt the Jordanians, especially in the 2nd half. KJ Matsui, a former Columbia Lion, led the way with 25 points and 4 triples. He was well-supported by Takeki Shonaka, who shot an immaculate 3-of-3 from beyond the arc.
- Rasheim Wright caught fire in the 2nd frame before the Japanese simply outhustled the seemingly fatigued and visibly frustrated Jordanians in the 2nd half. Jordan has lost two straight now and is tied with the Philippines and Iran.
- Jordan goes down to 3-2 as Japan moves up to 2-3.
Rasheim Wright's game-high 26 points
were not enough against the energetic Japanese.

- Taiwan gets solo second at 4-1 whil UAE ties Malaysia at the bottom with a 0-5 slate.

hard by the Arabs.
