Jason Castro took the lead role for undermanned Talk ‘N Text and played his part so well as the Tropang Texters waylaid Shopinas.com for their fifth consecutive victory.
The league leaders separated from the Clickers in the second quarter with Castro anchoring a 23-4 blast in tandem with Japeth Aguilar as Talk ‘N Text outscored Shopinas.com, 32-15, in the period and took a 51-32 lead at halftime.
Castro eventually finished with 17 points with 4 assists and got a lot of help from his
teammates. Aguilar backed him up with16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks while Harvey Carey was just as dominating with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Tropang Texters plastered
Shopinas.com, 61-53, off the boards. Ranidel de Ocampo also came off the bench and chipped in 10 points.
Jojo Duncil scored 16 on a 6-of-13 shooting for Shopinas.com. Elmer Espiritu and Paul Escobal had 13 apiece while James Sena grabbed 11 rebounds for the Clickers, who shot a woeful 34 percent for the game.

MERALCO BOLTS over POWERADE TIGERS, 98-96
Meralco relied on its defense, game-long brilliance by Gabby Espinas and late heroics by Mark
Cardona as it edged Powerade.
Espinas paced the Bolts with 25 points including a free throw that sealed it while Cardona had 18
Points. Cardona highlighted his performance with that baby hook he is known for with 12 seconds to go to help seal the deal and snare for Meralco its sixth win against four losses, which was good for solo fifth place.
Powerade built on a strong second quarter attack with a bigger third quarter explosion, outscoring Meralco again, 36-27, to seize an 84-79 lead going into the final 12 minutes of play.

PETRON BLAZE BOOSTERS over BARAKO BULL ENERGY, 75-66
Dennis Miranda came through when his team needed it most as Petron Blaze survived Barako Bull's upset try and hang on to a victory that solidified it at third place.
Miranda poured in 10 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter including nine in a long stretch that saw the Boosters turning a 54-59 deficit to a commanding 75-64 bulge that resulted in their fourth win in a row and seventh overall against three losses.
Arwind Santos fired 15 points, 10 of which also came in the last canto, and spiked his solid effort
with his ninth double-double effort in the conference after plucking 14 rebounds while Lordy Tugade, back from a hand injury that sidelined him four months, chipped in 11 markers to help in the cause.
The Energy, who were led by Willie Miller and Dorian Pena's 16 points each, fell to their fourth
defeat against five wins. It was also Barako Bull’s first back-to-back defeats in the conference
as it also lost to Rain or Shine 93-82 last Nov. 11.

ALASKA ACES over POWERADE TIGERS, 121-111
Alaska Milk relied on LA Tenorio's fourth quarter heroics and strong offensive efforts from Tony dela Cruz and rookie Mac Baracael as it repulsed Powerade to remain in the playoff hunt.
Tenorio erupted for 13 of his 23 points, dela Cruz had his best game in a long while and Baracael
had a career best 22-point effort as the Aces nailed their second win in nine outings to stay alive
in the race for the eighth and last playoff berth.
JV Casio, this year's top rookie overall pick, came through with career highs 26 points and 11
assists as well as fellow neophyte and former Smart Gilas teammate Marcio Lassiter, who fired a
personal PBA best 25 .

TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS over RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS, 106-104
There are some doubters as to the ability of Jayson Castro to carry Talk ‘N Text in the absence of fallen starting guards Jimmy Alapag and Ryan Reyes. On Saturday, the player everybody calls The Blur proved them wrong. With the game on the line, the lightning-quick Castro made one huge basket after the other in late regulation and in overtime as the Tropang Texters turned back the stubborn Rain or Shine Elasto Painters to remain on top in the PBA Philippine.
Playing before a jam-packed weekend crowd headed by Misamis Oriental Governor Oscar Moreno, Castro erupted for nine of his 21 points in OT, which he highlighted with a layup he launched amid heavy traffic that sealed it for Talk ‘N Text.
Rain or Shine drew scoring from equal sources as six of its players finished in double figures
headed by Jervy Cruz's 16 points and Ryan Arana's 15. RoS rookie sensation Paul Lee tallied 11 points including one monster pull up jumper that gave the Elasto Painters a 93-91 lead with 16 seconds left in regulation before Castro knotted it and forced extra time.
Ranidel de Ocampo actually led all scorers with 27 points but he fell to cramps late in regulation
paving the way for Castro to take over.

Alaska Milk used its height and heft advantage to neutralize Shopinas.com's speed and sweet-shooting and eke out a victory for their first back-to-back .
The bullish duo of Sonny Thoss and Jay-R Reyes asserted their inside might and conspired for 28 points, 25 rebounds, 9 assists and 7 blocks in helping the Aces nail their second victory in
a row and third overall in 10 outings.
RJ Jazul, a former Smart-Gilas player, was blowtorching the Aces all game long as he exploded with a career-high 24 points he laced with six three-pointers while Jojo Duncil got the rest of the job done with 13 points, 6 rebounds and a personal-high 8 assists.
But the Clickers just didn't have enough firepower and solid interior defense to stop the taller and
bigger Aces in falling to their 11th straight loss in as many outings that tied the third all-time
longest losing skid in a conference alongside Welcoat, which had the ignominy of doing that four
seasons ago.

B-MEG LLAMADOS over BGY. GINEBRA KINGS, 88-76
B-Meg went to other sources when James Yap struggled as it turned back a feisty Brgy. Ginebra, to improve to a share of fourth with Meralco in the PBA Philippine.
Yap ended up leading five other teammates with double-digit scores with 17 points, but it was the uncanny tandem of Marc Pingris and Roger Yap who came through in the clutch, firing six points apiece in the crucial stretch to help seal it for the Llamados.
It was B-Meg's fourth straight victory and sixth overall to jump to a joint No. 4 with the Bolts and just a full game behind the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters and Petron Blaze Boosters, who are jammed at No. 2 on 7-3 cards.
Lightning-quick rookie Mark Barroca continued to impress and wound up with 14 points he topped with 5 boards, 3 assists and a steal while Simon, Josh Urbiztondo, Pingris and Kerby Raymundo chipped in 12, 10, 10 and 10 points, respectively.
The Kings, who were spearheaded by Jay Jay Helterbrand's 17 points, had all the chances of snatching the win, but didn't have enough left in the tank in the stretch to fall to their fifth defeat against four wins that was good for No. 7.
