UNIV. OF CEBU WEBMASTERS over SAN SEBASTIAN GOLDEN STAGS, 92-71
When it rains, it pours. The Webmasters from Cebu notched their first Final Four win at the expense of the erstwhile unbeaten San Sebastian Stags thanks to accurate sniping. Coach Roehl Gomez may have transferred some of his renowned shooting prowess to his wards, who converted 16 treys to run roughshod over the Stags, who already booked a twice-to-beat seat in the National Finals.
Edward Pao hit an eye-popping 7 triples to finish with 25 points. He also had 8 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot. Robinson Mohammad was quite impressive, too. He hit 6 treys of his own to end up with 20 points. Junmar “The Kracken” Fajardo was his usual steady self, throwing in 20 markers along with 12 caroms and 3 rejections.
This is UC’s first win after bowing to Ateneo and San Beda in the last few days, but they a shot at salvaging 3rd Place if they can play well again against the Red Lions on Monday.
Baste, meanwhile, was led by Calvin Abueva’s 17 points, 9 boards and 4 dimes.
UC 92 – Pao 25, Mohammad 20, Fajardo 20, Heruela 12, Bercede 12, Auditor 3, Ocariza 0, Batino 0, Ampoon 0
SSC 71 – Abueva 17, Ferrer 9, Sangalang 9, Vitug 9, Grilli 8, del Rio 6, Miranda 4, dela Cruz 4, Balucanag 3, Maiquez 2
QS: 22-17, 47-45, 69-57, 92-71

ATENEO DE MANILA BLUE EAGLES over SAN BEDA RED LIONS, 76-63
The Champs have a chance to defend their crown, though it’ll be a major uphill battle. Ateneo de Manila defeated San Beda to book a National Finals slot against their 2011 contrapelos, the San Sebastian Stags.
Greg Slaughter scattered 20 points and collared 8 rebounds while wunderkind Kiefer Ravena tallied18 markers to go along with 4 assists and 3 rebounds. Nico Salva was also a heavy contributor, making 17 points and getting 8 rebounds. It is worth noting that Ravena was the chief facilitator in this game as usual starter Emman Monfort did not make it due to his PBA D-League commitments.
The NCAA champions bowed anew to their “brother team,” but, considering their roster was significantly depleted, coach Frankie Lim’s boys still gave a good fight. Mar Villahermosa and Rome Dela Rosa led the way, scoring 21 and 14 points respectively, for the Mendiolans.
AdMU 76 – Slaughter 20, Ravena 18, Salva 17, Chua 6, Gonzaga 5, Austria 4, Long 4, Tiongson 2, Golla 0, Pessumal 0, Capacio 0, Erram 0
SBC 63 – Villahermosa 21, de la Rosa 14, Marcelo 7, Pascual 6, Amer 6, Lim 5, Caram 4, Sorela 0, Koga 0, Pontejos 0
QS: 23-19, 37-28, 55-44, 76-63
