POWERADE TIGERS over RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS, 110-108
Gary David failed to reach the 30-point mark this time, but he probably didn’t mind. What mattered more was that his franchise is on the threshold of completing a Cinderella finish. The Tigers overcame a six-point deficit with 1:44 left in the game, and the ballclub’s version of the Big Three combined forces in the team’s explosive finish in a thrilling victory over Rain or Shine for a 3-2 lead in their best-of-seven semifinals series.
David hit a three-point shot, JV Casio completed a three-point play and added a free throw, and Marcio Lassiter knocked in three free throws in the last 15.8 seconds as Powerade erased a 106-100 deficit to close in on its first championship appearance since bolting from the San Miguel Corporation group in 2004.

David, who scored at least 30 points in his last six games dating back to the quarterfinals, finished with 28. Casio added 25 and Lassiter contributed 19 with 11 rebounds. Doug Kramer had 10 points and 10 boards for Powerade, which can wrap up the series with another victory Sunday.
JR Quiñahan had 18 points for Rain or Shine, which in Game Three likewise lost what looked like a safe lead in regulation before losing to the Tigers in overtime.

TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS over PETRON BLAZE BOOSTERS, 93-91
Jimmy Alapag banged in a crucial triple in the last 44 seconds, then Talk N Text made the needed defensive stops as the Tropang Texters lived to fight another game with a win over the Petron Blaze Boosters before a sellout crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
As in the last three games, Game Five boiled down to which team made the last shot.
Talk n Text got it through Alapag, and the Texters stayed alive, closing in on the Boosters, 2-3, in their best-of-seven semifinal showdown.
Ali Peek manned the fort after Kelly Williams’s exit in the third period (due to an injured hamstring), and the massively built player delivered crucial plays. Peek scored all his 11 points in the final half and he added 6 rebounds and 1 steal against only one error.

Ranidel de Ocampo, Jarred Dillinger and Larry Fonacier came through with commendable back-up efforts as the Texters overcame Chris Lutz’s career-best 27-point explosion.
Arwind Santos was back churning out double-double numbers with 21 points and 11 rebounds. He hastened their downfall, though, with his harried three-pointer that missed.
