If DeMarcus Cousins isn’t careful, he might just go the way of the dinosaurs. He’s clearly talented – think Andrew Bynum without the injury issues. The problem with him is he seems to have left his common sense and maturity back in high school. He sat out the New Orleans game thanks to nobody else, but his own twisted machinations. He’s wrecking my fantasy season. On the brighter side of things, the Wolves finally broke into the win column, Chicago won its home opener, Ryan Anderson and JJ Reddick shot the lights out for Orlando and the Nuggets avenged last night’s sorry loss to the Lakers. Chris Bosh seems to have rediscovered his mojo as the Heat go 5-0 for the first time ever. Washington remains winless as Rajon Rondo reels in his first triple-double of the season. The Nets continue to flounder after their opening night win. The Clips get a share of the Pacific Division top spot with a win over erstwhile undefeated Portland.

After the JUMP, key stat-stuffers for today’s games:

ORL over TOR, 102-96 – The big man duo of Dwight Howard and Ryan Anderson is doing wonders for the Magic.
MIA over CHA, 129-90 – This time around, the Heat left no doubt, thanks to Chris Bosh’s double-double.
BOS over WAS, 94-86 – Rondo racks up a triple-double as the Cs gain some momentum and keep the Wiz winless.
CLE over NJN, 98-82 – Big second half propels the Cavs to a good win over the struggling Nets.
MIN over DAL, 99-82 – Love’s all-around brilliance and Rubio’s stellar play spank the defending champs as the Wolves get win #1.
DEN over LAL, 99-90 – Nuggets avenge last night’s loss as Kobe shoots blanks.
CHI over MEM, 104-64 – Gay with just 5 points, Zebo injures his knee and the Grizz lose by 40. Doesn’t get much worse than that.
SAC over NOH, 96-80 – The Kings didn’t miss the antics of DeMarcus Cousins as they disposed of the Hornets.
LAC over POR, 93-88 – Clips bounce back with a quality win over a quality team.
