#bigtrouble #noshowThe Big2 were not able to dominate in the 2nd half like they did in Game 1. The Heat offense was stagnant and they shot poorly from everywhere: threes, freethrows and layups. The Pacers shot good enough to earn a split in Miami. This was an ugly game with both teams struggling to make shots (Pacers 38%, Heat 35%). Ultimately, the Pacers started making their shots because they were good shots. They were running their sets and there was ball movement. The Heat had nothing going on most of the time other than having James and Wade dribble and take shots that were not falling. The Heat role players gave the Big2 no help at all. No one else scored more than 5 points and the treys were not falling (1-16). The Pacers took full advantage of Bosh's injury by outrebounding the Heat by 10 and David West had 16 and 10.
#flagrant #unclutch LeBron James had a chance to give the Heat the lead and maybe win the game. He failed to deliver in the clutch, missing crucial freethrows. This was not a MVP performance and he needed help but it was not provided. James was fatigued from playing the whole 2nd half again and maybe that hurt his productivity from the foul line. D-Wade tried to add support but he was struggling with his jumper and the lane was covered by the Pacers interior defense due to the Heat not making any perimeter shots. No one else posed as a threat. Wade was more focused on whining and complaining to the referees about foul calls instead of running back on defense. He cost his team points and he committed a nasty flagrant foul that bordered on dirty. He was lucky he was not ejected from the game. Wade needs to focus more on playing transition defense instead of complaining.

It was not surprising that the Spurs won. The surprise was the blowout and that Chris Paul was ineffective. The Clippers were definitely fatigued and some players were hurting. The Spurs great defense on the pick and roll limited what the Clippers could do on offense. They relied on Paul to do all the work and playmaking but the Spurs snuffed out their game plan. Parker had a bad game as well but others picked up the slack. The Spurs won all the major categories: rebounding, free throws and treys. The Spurs attacked the paint and outscored the Clippers 42-30. The Clips were just slow in their defensive rotations and help defense. They decided to play Duncan straight up and TD delivered a vintage performance.

Tim Duncan has been playing out of his mind. He got another double-double tonight. Him and Kevin Garnett must have had drank from the fountain of youth or something. Both guys have been getting big numbers and double-doubles. Tim Duncan outplayed the younger and more athletic Blake Griffin. Both Western match-ups have resulted in blowouts with the superior team being 1-0 while on the East, both series are tied 1-1 and the games have been close, being decided on one possessions.
