snapped a losing streak to the Lakers in today’s NBA action.

Best:
- The Wizards played really well against the Thunder, but Kevin Durant was just too much in the end. KD dropped 33 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and had 6 assists as OKC rallied to beat the upstart Wizards, 106-105 in OT. Washington leaned on young gun Bradley Beal, who finally broke out with 34 points behind 6/8 three-point shooting.
- Ricky Rubio registered the season’s second triple-double as Minnesota beat the Lakers at the Staples Center, 113-90. Rubio scored 12 points, handed out 14 assists, and collared 10 rebounds while also getting 5 steals in a superb quarterbacking effort. The T-Wolves finally beat the Purple & Gold after losing to them in their last 22 meetings.
The
Worst:
- JR Smith was horrendous against San Antonio. Smith missed all but one of his shots to end up with just 5 points in 21 minutes. Not enough misery? How about adding 4 turnovers, too?
- Wesley Johnson seems to have cooled off after stroking the nylon against Houston last week. Johnson hit just 2 of 10 shots against the Wolves today, and his overall FG% has now dipped to under 33% for the season. For a guy who launches nearly 10 field goals per game, that is NOT good.

Danny Green exemplified San Antonio's hot shooting, making 6-of-9 3-pointers en
route to 24 points and had 10 rebounds as the Spurs beat the New York Knicks
120-89 in a Sunday matinee at Madison Square Garden. Kawhi Leonard contributed
18 points off the bench on 7- of-10 shooting and fellow reserve Patty Mills
added 15 points for the Spurs, who have won six of their first seven games this
season. Tim Duncan finished with 11 points -- nine on free throws -- and 10
boards in limited minutes in the one-sided game. Tony Parker missed only four
of the 12 field goals he attempted and totaled 17 points with six assists, also
in limited minutes. Carmelo Anthony and Andrea Bargnani both scored 16 points
for New York, which is off to a sluggish 2-4 start. J.R. Smith, the reigning
Sixth Man of the Year, had five points on 1-of-9 shooting in his season debut.
He was suspended for the first five games for violating the league's anti-drug
program.

The Oklahoma City Thunder took the Washington Wizards' best shot and rallied to
win in overtime Sunday, 106-105. The Thunder trailed by as many as 12 points in
the fourth quarter and came back to win despite the loss of Russell Westbrook,
who was ejected with 3:19 left in regulation after picking up his second
technical. Kevin Durant had 33 points, 13 rebounds and six assists and hit the
tying and go-ahead free throws in the final minute of overtime to send Oklahoma
City to its fourth straight win. The Wizards wasted a terrific effort from
Bradley Beal, whose six 3- pointers and career-high 34 points went for naught.
John Wall was limited to 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting and missed a potential
go-ahead layup at the overtime buzzer.

Markieff Morris exploded for 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting off the bench as the
Phoenix Suns downed the New Orleans Pelicans, 101-94, to keep their surprising
start going. Eric Bledsoe scored 24 points, handed out six assists and even
recorded a big block of 6-foot-10 Anthony Davis in the closing seconds of
Phoenix's fifth victory on the young season. The win made Jeff Hornacek the
first coach in Suns history to win his first four home games. Jason Smith had a
team-high 22 points while Jrue Holiday and Anthony Morrow added 16 apiece for
the Pelicans, who had won two in a row since losing on their home floor to
these Suns last week.

Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves can breathe a sigh of relief after
Sunday's 113-90 dismantling of the Los Angeles Lakers. Love totaled 25 points
and 13 rebounds and the Timberwolves ended their ghastly 22-game losing streak
to the Lakers in convincing fashion. They had not beaten LA since Mar. 6, 2007
and recorded their first win over the Lakers at Staples Center in nearly eight
years. Kevin Martin led all scorers with 27 points while Ricky Rubio finished
with 12 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double
for Minnesota, which improved to 5-2 on the young season. Steve Blake and Jodie
Meeks scored 19 and 16 points, respectively, to pace the Lakers, losers in
three of their last four.
