Pumped Up Kicks: Reebok #ZPump Fusion

About two Fridays ago, Reebok Philippines collaborated with sneakerhead paradise Sole Academy in launching the ZPump Fusion. Yours truly was invited as one of the bloggers to cover the event (along with other leading Pinoy sneakerheads like Joey Puno a.k.a. @kickspotting and Martin David a.k.a. @solemovement), and, boy, I found the ZPump Fusion to be one pretty awesome pair of runners.

The revolutionary ZPump Fusion.
Now, I’ve only had maybe one or two Reeboks all my life, but this is hands-down the best pair I’ve ever had.

Sole Academy put up a great launch for the ZPump Fusion, allowing customers to fit the shoe and test its unique pump tech. I say unique because the tech isn’t really new. The Reebok pump has been a staple of the brand since the 90s, but I think this is the first time I’ve seen it on the side and not on the outer part of the tongue.

Marvel at the ZPump's tech!
Unlike past iterations of Reebok’s pump line, however, the ZPump Fusion features a revolutionary “air cage” or what Reebok calls the Fusion sleeve that, once pumped, is supposed to wrap around the foot. This is Reebok’s way of making sure that the shoe does actually fit the wearer and not the other way around. Pretty clever, if you ask me.

If I remember correctly, past Reebok pump shoes (e.g. Shaqnosis, Kamikaze, Shaq Attaq) focused mainly on inflating the tongue, but not the area around the ankles. This means that the ZPump Fusion takes pump tech a step further.

Another great thing about it is the Z-rated outsole, which takes its tech from performance tires. The idea is the outsole is supposed to give better traction, especially since this is a runner.

Awesome CWs!
After taking the ZPump Fusion and putting it through its paces, my dad (yes, he tried them out, too) and I can say that we are impressed.

The fit is great (the pump actually works!) and the cushioning is awesome (one of the most comfortable I’ve ever felt). I didn’t use it to shoot hoops, but it’s a perfect choice for a runner. Doesn’t look too shabby as a casual/porma shoe, too (if you don’t mind the huge PUMP lettering, of course).

The Reebok ZPump Fusion is now available and retails for Php 5,795.

Here are some clips about the ZPump Fusion and some of my IG posts about it:
