Here are the game reports from Ma’am Tessa Jazmines:
National University hacked out a 68-53 win over De La Salle-Zobel to grab the solo lead over the weekend in the UAAP Season 78 juniors basketball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The Bullpups were able to hold down Junior Archers hotshot Aljun Melecio to a season-low 19 points on a 7-of-22 shooting.
Karl Peñano had 17 points and 9 rebounds, John Lloyd Clemente tossed in 12 markers, and Justine Baltazar had 11 points and 17 rebounds for NU, which is now the only unbeaten team with a 3-0 card.
De La Salle-Zobel dropped in a four-way tie in second place alongside defending champion Ateneo, Far Eastern University-Diliman, and University of Santo Tomas at 2-1.

In other results, the Eaglets downed Adamson University, 71-55, the Baby Tamaraws routed University of the East, 81-66, while the Tiger Cubs won via default over UP Integrated School.
Gian Mamuyac paced Ateneo with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, while Jolo Mendoza added 16 points, 5 boards, and 2 dimes. This was a big win, since the Eaglets have won two straight after a season-opening loss to the Junior Archers.
Kenji Roman shot 20 points, while LJ Gonzales and JJ Sapinit chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively, for FEU-Diliman.
The Baby Falcons slipped to 1-2, while the Junior Warriors and the Junior Maroons remained winless in three starts.
