#PBA2016 Philippine Cup Quarterfinals Roundup: December 28, 2015

The semifinal cast of the 2015-2016 PBA Philippine Cup was completed last night as the Rain or Shine Elasto-Painters knocked off preseason favorite Talk N Text to set-up a match-up with defending champion San Miguel Beer in a best-of-7 series.

Raymond Almazan put up a huge double-double as ROS punched its semifinal ticket at the expense of TNT.

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters booked their place in the SMART BRO PBA Philippine Cup semifinals after outgunning the TNT Tropang Texters, 104-89, in a knockout quarterfinal clash on Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Raymond Almazan delivered a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds alongside three blocks, pacing six other Rain or Shine players in double figures in the win.

Rookie Don Trollano scored 14 points, while sharpshooter Jeff Chan added 13 markers. Gabe Norwood, Jericho Cruz, and JR Quinahan all had 11 apiece, while third overall pick Maverick Ahanmisi chipped in with 10.

With the win, they advance into a best-of-seven semifinal matchup with the defending champion San Miguel Beermen.

Gilas veteran Jayson Castro finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for TNT, while top overall draft choice Mo Tautuaa had 14 points and 8 boards.
