PHOENIX FUEL MASTERS over NLEX ROAD WARRIORS, 118-106

The Phoenix Fuel Masters picked up their first win in franchise history as they made a triumphant debut, 118-106, over the NLEX Road Warriors in the 2016 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
RR Garcia scored a game-high 33 points – including six three-pointers – while import Kenny Adeleke did not disappoint with an 18-point, 20-rebound performance for Phoenix.
JC intal also had a strong showing, scoring 17 points, including four triples, while Mac Baracael added 15 markers.
NLEX import Al Thornton, who scored 50 points in the team’s first game, finished with a relatively low 27 points in the game.

MERALCO BOLTS over RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS, 98-95

The Meralco Bolts let a comfortable 25-point halftime lead slip away in the second half but recovered just in time to beat Rain or Shine, 98-95, to notch a third straight win in the 2016 Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Import Arinze Onuaku had a monster performance with 31 points and 27 rebounds, while Jared Dillinger provided some firepower off the bench with 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting, including 2-for-3 on three-pointers.
Cliff Hodge also had a strong effort for the Bolts with 12 markers while Ken Bono had nine.
Meralco banked on a huge second quarter to take a 25-point lead, 61-36, into the halftime break.
But Rain or Shine responded by dominating the third quarter, 40-15, to wipe out the entire lead before the quarter even ended.
There was some bad news for Rain or Shine, though, as import Wayne Chism exited the game with what seemed like a hamstring injury and was later reported to be taken to the hospital.
Rookie Maverick Ahanmisi finished with 19 points for ROS, while Jericho Cruz and JR Quinahan each had 15. Chism finished with three points and four rebounds in under 17 minutes of play before leaving the contest.
