Box Scores.

The Phoenix Fuel Masters needed an extra period but got the job done when it needed to as they snapped a two-game losing streak with a badly-needed win over Blackwater, 124-120, on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Phoenix improved to 3-5 in the Oppo PBA Commissioner’s Cup standings while knocking skidding Blackwater down to 3-7 after a fourth consecutive loss.

The balanced Fuel Masters got a huge effort from import Kevin Pinkney, who had 21 points and 16 rebounds, and Mac Baracael, who also finished with 21.

JC Intal added 19, RR Garcia had 18 and five assists, while Willy Wilson chipped in with 16 markers, including three triples.

They also overcame a huge performance from Blackwater’s Carlo Lastimosa, who scored a game-high 28 points, including a three-pointer that sent the game to overtime and seven of the Elite’s 11 points in the extra period. He did, however, miss a potentially game-winning free throw at the end of regulation.

Kevin Pinkney (PHX) - 21pts, 16rebs, 3blks, 1ast, 1stl, 8/16 FGs
