TNT KA TROPA over MERALCO BOLTS, 113-95

TNT KaTropa stamped their class as the tournament’s No.1 seed, catching fire from beyond the arc to run roughshod over the Meralco Bolts, 113-95, in Game One of their best-of-five PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals Tuesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Michael Madanly scored 20 of his 22 points in the second half, while Troy Rosario made 16 markers to lead five KaTropa players in double digits. They combined for eight out of the team’s 15 three-pointers as TNT shot half of their 30 attempts from downtown.
Mychal Ammons tallied 15 points and 11 rebounds while Jayson Castro, who had exploded for 42 points last outing, was limited to 14 points on three out of 15 field goal shooting.
The Bolts were able to exchange baskets down the stretch but couldn’t force stops to mount a serious rally.
Allen Durham had a monster outing of 26 points and 21 boards while Cliff Hodge added 16 points and eight boards. Jared Dillinger also chipped in 12 points in the losing effort.
