ALASKA ACES over BARAKO BULL ENERGY, 93-73
Alaska coach Joel Banal knew his team is in for a breakthrough win. He was proven right and none more pleasant than a victory over erstwhile streaking Barako Bull. Sonny Thoss scored a career-high 27 points on top of 13 rebounds and had plenty of support in Alaska's first win after starting the season with five straight losses.
Rookie Dylan Ababou scored a team-high 19 points to lead the off-the-bench players who tried to carry the fight for Barako Bull when its starters struggled. None among Danny Seigle, Paul Artadi, Willie Miller, Jondan Salvador and Mick Pennisi breached the 9-point barrier. Don Allado and Sunday Salvacion tried to compensate by combining for 21 points but their efforts still proved futile and Barako saw its conference-best streak snapped, due mainly to the Energy's dismal field shooting in the second half.
Marnel Baracael, another rookie, scored 16 points off the bench, LA Tenorio added 15 points, a game-high 9 assists and 7 rebounds and four of the six other Aces Banal fielded scored at least eight points.

B-MEG LLAMADOS over SHOPINAS.COM CLICKERS, 93-72
The Shopinas.com Clickers continued to fight hard, but came up short once again Wednesday night, thus, left by their lonesome in the cellar. At the end of the night, B-Meg stood at 3-4, Alaska at 1-5 and Shopinas at 0-6 nearing the halfway mark of the PBA Philippine Cup elimination stage.
The Llamados needed to step up in the fourth quarter to pull through after dragged into a tight low-scoring game in the first 36 minutes of action. Yap himself rose up in the crunch, firing 9 of his 12 points in the payoff period. The Llamados barely led by three at 51-48 in the first three quarters marked by seven deadlocks and six lead changes.
It was a neck-and-neck battle marred by the ejection of B-Meg’s Roger Yap and Shopinas’ Ogie Menor on technical infractions. The count stood at 44-all when the two were eventually banished entering the last two minutes of the third canto. PJ Simon led all scorers with 18 points while Barroca and Yap added 13 and 12, respectively. Elmer Espiritu paced the losing side with 13.

RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS over SHOPINAS.COM CLICKERS, 96-75
Rain or Shine recorded their third consecutive blowout on Friday with head coach Yeng Guiao comfortably watching the game on television at the press room. The fiery coach of the Elasto Painters was ejected from the game after picking up two “Ts” in the first half. Not even his absence though could slow down the league leaders, who demolished Shopinas.com.
It was another frustrating loss for the Clickers, who battled the Elasto Painters to five deadlocks and eight lead changes in the first half only to fade in the third quarter. Shopinas.com trailed 39-43 at halftime and never got a chance to get back in the game due to poor shooting. The Clickers, who have yet to win a game in the tournament, shot a woeful 27 percent (5 of 18) in the third quarter on the way to their seventh straight loss.
Jeff Chan led all scorer with a career-high 28 points, including 4 of 9 shooting from 3-point range. He poured 17 of those in the third quarter as Rain or Shine outscored Shopinas.com, 27-10 to break the game wide open. Ronjay Buenafe scored 12 points and Jervy Cruz had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

MERALCO BOLTS over BGY. GINEBRA KINGS, 93-87
Humbled by Rain or Shine the last time out, Meralco just refused to lose again, bouncing back with a win over Barangay Ginebra. The Bolts worked hard on both ends throughout and emerged triumphant, ending the Kings’ amazing two-game run of come-from-behind wins.
Mark Cardona top scored with 25 points while Asi Taulava and Gabby Espinas got 11 points each and 11 rebounds apiece, leading Meralco to its fifth win against three losses. Stopped on their tracks, the Ginebra Kings slid to joint fifth place with the Petron Blaze Boosters and the Powerade Tigers at 3-3.

PETRON BLAZE BOOSTERS over ALASKA ACES, 86-80
Playing extended minutes in the absence of Chris Lutz, Joseph Yeo rose up and led Petron Blaze’s drive back on track with a win over the Alaska Aces. The second-string off guard came through with a personal season high of 27 points that went with 9 rebounds, providing the impetus as the Boosters recovered from back-to-back losses.
Yeo fired 13 points right in the first quarter then after taking a rest in the second period, returned firing again, making the big difference as the Boosters nailed a fourth win against three losses.
Arwind Santos, Denok Miranda and Alex Cabagnot had significant contributions as the Boosters hurdled the Aces in the Lapu Lapu stop of the Phoenix Fuel PBA on Tour. Santos, Miranda and Cabagnot chipped in at least 13 points each and had exciting moves sending the Lapu Lapu crowd rocking.

Talk N Text came back from a nine-day break brimming with energy and pounced on Barangay Ginebra to remain in the hunt for first place. Talk N Text outscored Barangay Ginebra, 25-14 in the breakaway second quarter to vault ahead by 17
points, 48-31 at the half. Starring for the Tropang Texters in that period were backcourtmen Jayson Castro who pumped in nine points and Ryan Reyes who had back-to-back three point shots.
Reyes led the Tropang Texters with 20 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Williams completed a double-double with 19 points and 11 boards aside from 2 assists and a steal. Mark Caguioa led the Gin Kings with 14 points while Cortez had 11 as only these two players finished in double figures in scoring. Barangay Ginebra dropped to 3-4.

BARAKO BULL ENERGY over POWERADE TIGERS, 117-78
Barako Bull registered the most lopsided win in franchise history, walloping Powerade. Sunday Salvacion scored 20 points and Willie Miller had 16 on top of 5 assists in leading the Energy's explosive show and bounce-back performance after a loss to Alaska last Wednesday.
It was the fifth win in seven games for the Energy, keeping them at third-running spot. The loss was a rather unexpected one for Powerade, which is coming off a 108-94 win over Petron Blaze a week ago, dropping it to a3-4 slate.
Paul Artadi added 14 points and Leo Avenido 12 and both typified Barako's tough defensive stance by helping stifle Jayvee Casio, Gary David and Marcio Lassiter. David, who was averaging 22.8 points per contest and coming off a new career-high 42-point performance against Petron, was held to a conference-low 5 points before leaving the game for good as early as the last four minutes of the third period due to a sprain. Casio was limited to just 4 points on 2-of-7 field shooting, compared to Artadi's 6-of 8, while Lassiter wound up with just nine points on 3-of-9 shooting.
