Another fantastic game between the Rockets and Blazers took place in Game 3 at Portland. We were treated to another overtime game (2nd in the series) that delivered a very unexpected finish. With the score tied at 116 with about 11 seconds to go, #30 of the Rockets got the ball from Jeremy Lin and launched a deep three that circled the rim and went in. Bang! Rockets up by 3 and they held on to win the game and stayed alive in this series down 1-2 instead of 0-3. The guy who made the shot was rookie Troy Daniels (who Ive never heard off until today) who was called up from the NBA D-League. Daniels actually made his professional debut in early March and played in only 5 regular season games. Still, he was ready when called upon and he had onions to take the shot in overtime. Meanwhile, James Harden finally scored a lot, 37 to be exact, but he took a ghastly 35 attempts to reach that number. Houston was also able to slow down LaMarcus Aldridge who just had 23 points after scoring more than 40 in the previous 2 games. However, Damian Lillard balled again with his second 30-point game in the series. Unfortunately, his Blazers caught an unlucky break when Daniels nailed that clutch three.

Nene has been very good in the two wins of Washington. He was having an okay game with 10 points and 4 rebounds before he got entangled with Jimmy Butler. That happened with around 8 minutes in the 4th quarter with the game still very much undecided. Nene butt heads with Butler then he kinda used a headlock on him. Nene got ejected for that while Butler received a technical foul for his role. I have no idea what Nene was thinking to get himself ejected because nothing was going on between them. They simply bumped into each other but Nene decided to make things worse. Now, the Wizards could be in deeper trouble if the NBA suspends Nene in Game 4. However, if Mike Dunleavy explodes for another big game of 30 points or so, it doesn't matter if Nene plays or not. The Bulls will win if Dunleavy hits most of his threes. Dunleavy was scorching hot, going 8 for 10 on threes and notching a playoff career-high of 35 points. His season high was 24 points during the regular season. Nonetheless, Butler might have been their MVP since he hit a huge three in the final moments and he got Nene thrown out of the game.

A 15-point lead for the Nets in the 4th quarter wasn't safe at all. Toronto was able to claw back and even had a chance to tie with less than 20 seconds left. Patrick Patterson had two FTs to tie but he missed both and the Nets recovered the rebound to seal the game. Joe Johnson finished with 29 points to lead the Nets. In both of their wins, Iso Joe averaged 27 points while in their lone loss, he scored 18 points. Paul Pierce also bounced back with 22 points after only getting 7 in their Game 2 defeat. The Raptors battled hard even though a few tough calls went against them including a technical foul on Grievis Vasquez with less than a minute left in regulation. So far, experience is trumping youth in this series. Terrence Ross continues to struggle and Coach Casey should consider sitting him and playing others more. On the other hand, Jonas Valanciunas and DeMar DeRozan are playing excellent but they need more from Kyle Lowry who is getting outplayed by Deron Williams.
