Box Scores.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters put their heart and toughness on full display as they knotted their PBA Philippine Cup semifinal series with Alaska at 2-2 following a 98-91 victory over the Aces in a Christmas Day clash at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rain or Shine fell behind by as many as 11 points in the second half, but they worked their way back into Game Four of the best-of-seven series. Jeff Chan scored 25 big points, including five three-pointers, while Gabe Norwood chipped in with seven crucial points in the last four minutes, finishing with a total of 12. Beau Belga added 11 points, while Chris Tiu had 10 in just 12 short minutes off the bench. Raymond Almazan also had a solid night, finishing with just seven points but posting team-highs of seven rebounds, three steals, and four blocks.

It was a physical, chippy encounter with Alaska star Calvin Abueva being sent off the playing court late in the game for taking a swing at Rain or Shine’s Jonathan Uyloan’s midsection.

Watch it:

Sonny Thoss led Alaska with 25 points and 11 rebounds, but he fouled out at the 3:51 mark of the fourth and Abueva, who finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, also failed to make it to the final buzzer, leaving the game with 1:43 remaining.

It was a sorry loss for the Aces, who ruled the battle of the boards, 57-43. Coach Alex Compton’s boys, however, turned the ball over 19 times, which resulted in 13 points off TOs from ROS. The Aces also went cold from beyond the arc, making just 4 of their 21 triple tries.

Line of the Game: Sonny Thoss - 25pts, 12rebs, 1ast, 1blk, 12/15 FGs.
