Game recap (adapted from InterAKTV):
BARAKO BULL ENERGY over BLACKWATER ELITE, 92-70
Box Scores.
The Barako Bull Energy, led by Sol Mercado, took some time to find its groove but finally put things together to rout short-handed Blackwater, 92-70, to notch a first win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Barako Bull allowed Blackwater, which was playing without import Chris Charles in the game, to hang around for three quarters before destroying the Elite in a lopsided 30-12 fourth quarter to clinch the win.
Barako Bull reinforcement Solomon Alabi had 21 points, 22 rebounds, and 5 blocks in his debut, while their starting backcourt of Mercado and Chico Lanete also played well in the victory.
Mercado, acquired from GlobalPort prior to the Commissioner’s Cup, had 20 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the field, while Lanete had 19 on a 6-for-11 shooting clip. Both also shared team-high honors with three assists in the game.
Blackwater import Charles missed the game due to a hamstring injury. The Elite are reportedly looking at tapping Gilas naturalized player Marcus Douthit as its interim import.
Line of the Game: Solomon Alabi (BAR) - 21pts, 22rebs, 5blks, 1stl, 7/12 FGs.

TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS over RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS, 89-86
Box Scores.
Jayson Castro banked in a tough game-winning jumper with five seconds left as he lifted his Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters to a difficult 89-86 victory over Rain or Shine in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Castro finished with a team-high 15 points for a well-balanced Talk ‘N Text side that got contributions up and down the roster.
Ranidel De Ocampo had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Willie Miller, in his first game back in a Tropang Texters jersey, finished with 10.
Import Richard Howell was outgunned offensively in his duel with Rain or Shine’s Rick Jackson, notching 13 points and 12 rebounds to his counterpart’s 30 and 10, but Howell got the last laugh as his team came away with the victory.
Talk ‘N Text closed the game on an 8-2 run, with Castro, Howell, and De Ocampo all making big shots as the Tropang Texters recovered from an 84-81 deficit.
None were bigger than Castro’s final attempt, though, as he drove down the line and pivoted to lose defender Jonathan Uyloan before taking a tough contested jumper that he banked off the glass.
Jackson got support from Uyloan and Paul Lee, who tallied 11 and 10 points respectively.
Both Danny Seigle and Jeff Chan left the game due to separate injuries.
Line of the Game: Rick Jackson (ROS) - 30pts, 10rebs, 1ast, 10/20 FGs.
