Like in previous posts, I won’t be going into a lot of detail. I’ll use mostly images and then just add captions to each one that will, hopefully, capture the essence of the latest developments in Asian hoops.
Here are the highlights of this past week in Asian basketball:
- The playoff race is heating up in the KBL as only 6 teams will advance to the next round. As of now, Ulsan Mobis Phoebus, Wonju Dongbu Promy, and the Seoul SK Knights are the only ones assured of postseason tickets, while as many as five other clubs are vying for the last three slots.
- The NBL top two teams Hitachi Sunrockers and Aisin Seahorses tussle this past week, with the latter gaining the victory and staying as the league’s #1 team. The Chiba Jets also sank a big one by beating the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins.
- The Lebanese Basketball League continued htaing up, with favorites Sagesse, Al Riyadi, and Champville getting Ws.
- Over in Iran, the Superleague’s reinforced conference/cup has started, with top teams Mahram-Tehran and Petrochimi Bandar Imam predictably leading the way again.

| Heo Ung of Wonju Dongbu Promy tries to shoot from a tough angle as they beat the Incheon ET Land Elephants, 69-47. Wonju remains in second place behind Ulsan in the standings. |

| Veteran power forward Kim Min-Soo of the Seoul SK Knights came up big against the Busan KT Sonic Boom. The former national team player had 19 points on 9/17 FG shooting as Seoul beat Busan, 75-60. |

| National team mainstay Kim Tae-Sul pops for a jumper against the Seoul Samsung Thunders. His team, Jeonju KCC Egis, lost, 63-67. |

| Lee Jae-Do pulls up as Busan KT Sonic Boom defeated the Seoul Samsung Thunders just last night, 73-61. Busan is outside looking in at seventh spot for the playoff race. |

| NT big man Oh Se-Keun tries a reverse lay-up as Anyang KGC outplayed Jeonju KCC Egis last night, 76-71. Despite the win Anyang will be hard-pressed to make the next round. |

| Keijuro Matsui puts the move on the Hiroshima Dragonflies' Yusuke Okada. Matsui had 10 points as Toyota Alvark prevailed, 80-67. |

| One of Asia's best gunners, Kosuke Kanamaru, has been doing well for the league-best Aisin Seahorses. He is the leading local scorer for the NBL with 20.4 points per game. |

| Kosuke Takeuchi and the Hiroshima Dragonflies have been on a slump, losing 7 of their last 8 games. They have fallen down to third in the Western Division. |

| Takahiro Kurihara helped the defending champion Toshiba Brave Thunders beat the Dragonflies last week, 94-82. Toshiba is currently third in the Eastern Division. |

| Yuki Ueta of the Chiba Jets tries to put a move on Shogo Asayama of the Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins. Chiba won this one, 89-76. Chiba has risen to fourth in the East after winning its last five assignments. |
2014-2015 Lebanese Basketball League (LBL):

| Living legend Fadi El Khatib returned to the LBL and signed with Al Riyadi-Beirut. In this game against Moutahed-Tripli, Fadi dropped 29 points and 10 rebounds to lead his team to victory. |

| Jasmon Youngblood had 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists as United Byblos-Amchit beat Homenetmen Beirut, 94-79, for their eighth win in the LBL. |

| Former NBA lottery pick Nikoloz Tsikitishvili works on naturalized Lebanese Reyshawn Terry here. Skita had 26 points and 15 rebounds as Champville prevailed over Tadamon Zouk, 89-74. |

| Sevag Ketenjian of Homenetmen tries to get past the full court pressure of UBA. The Homenetmen are in sixth place with a 4-8 record. |
