Cleveland, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James played through a sprained left ankle and turned in his best performance of the playoffs, posting 38 points, 12 rebounds and six assists to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 106-101 win over the Chicago Bulls in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal. James, who evened the series at 2-2 with his buzzer-beating jumper at the end of Game 4, missed shootaround Tuesday morning with the injury that he suffered late Sunday but it hardly showed when the lights came on. Kyrie Irving scored 25 points and also through played through a number of injuries, including a sprained right foot and tendinitis in his left knee. The duo shot 23-for-40 from the floor. Jimmy Butler paced the Bulls with 29 points and Mike Dunleavy netted 19 in their second straight loss. Derrick Rose put in a forgettable 7-for-24 shooting effort, including 1-of-12 in the second half. The Cavaliers can close out the series Thursday in Chicago.
Houston 124, LA Clippers 103
Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - James Harden recorded a triple-double, Dwight Howard showed signs of dominating down low, and the Houston Rockets stayed alive in the Western Conference semifinals with a 124-103 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. Harden filled the box score with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while Howard contributed 20 points and 15 boards. Trevor Ariza also stepped up with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting, Corey Brewer added 15 points, and Terrance Jones and Jason Terry showed signs of life with 12 and 11, respectively. Blake Griffin logged his usual production of 30 points and 16 rebounds, and Chris Paul donated 22 points and 10 assists in a losing effort. The series shifts back to Los Angeles on Thursday where the Clippers can advance to their first conference finals in front of their home crowd.
