Former U16 star scorer Juan Kokodiputra led the way for the victors here, scoring 19 points on the strength of 4 triples. Muhamad Wardana anchored the paint with 9 points and 10 rebounds, while Restu Purnomo added 14 markers. Zainul Hussin was the lone bright spot for Brunei with 13 points and 16 rebounds.

- Malaysia built on its big upset win over Singapore by blasting Laos in this one. The Malaysians led from the get-go and sealed their second place finish in the tournament. They utilized superior ball movement and shooting to just put this game away. Sing Tee Ng led the winners with 14 points, while frontliner firebrand Ivan Yeo continued to impress with 10 points, 24 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. On the other end, Phouthong Labouaphieng recorded a 13-point, 12-rebound to lead Laos.

PHILIPPINES over SINGAPORE, 82-56

- Singapore wanted so badly to pull the rug from under the Filipinos, and for one quarter they looked like they might just stick around, but, in the end, the Philippine team just proved to be too strong. Strong showings in the second and third periods gave Sinag Pilipinas the big 29-point lead that they would never relinquish. For the seond night in a row, Singapore shot poorly from the field, making just 25% of its shots here. They also got outworked on the glass and also turned the ball over 21 times, which led to 20 points off turnovers for the victors. Marcus Douthit led Sinag with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Kiefer Ravena added 15 markers, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Jio Jalalon was a spark in the first half and ended up with a dozen points, 4 dimes, and 5 steals. As for the home team, Wei Long Wong and Wu Qingde scored 17 and 16 points respectively, while Larry Liew added 10 markers off the pine.
