MERALCO BOLTS over MAHINDRA ENFORCER, 104-99
Box Scores.

The Meralco Bolts made a huge second half comeback to steal the final twice-to-beat ticket from the Mahindra Enforcer, 104-99, in their PBA Governors’ Cup playoff for No.4 seed on Wednesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Jared Dillinger was instrumental in Meralco’s climb from a 16-point deficit, scoring 22 points fueled by four triples and leading a fourth quarter rally that helped Meralco nail the victory.

Import Allen Durham top-scored for the Bolts with 34 points. Baser Amer added 16 points and four assists, while Chris Newsome likewise had a huge contribution of 12 points and eight assists.

With the win, the Bolts only need one more win to advance to the semifinals. They will face again the Enforcer, who slid to No.5 after emerging as an early league leader, in the quarterfinals proper.

James White scored 22 points and 13 boards as Aldrech Ramos chipped in 20 markers for Mahindra, which missed its chance of claiming a twice-to-beat advantage in its first-ever playoff appearance.

Allen Durham (MER) - 34pts, 7rebs, 3asts, 3stls, 1 triple, 14/20 FGs.
James White (MAH) - 22pts, 13rebs, 5asts, 2blks, 1stl, 9/16 FGs.

With the win, Phoenix booked its first quarterfinal appearance in its young franchise history at the expense of Rain or Shine whose streak of consecutive playoff stints ended at 12.

The Fuel Masters led by as much as 18 points and weathered a Rain or Shine storm in the fourth quarter to pull off the impressive triumph.

Josh Dollard made 20 points and seven boards to pace Rain or Shine, which failed to duplicate its successful Commissioner’s Cup title run just last conference.
