Japeth Aguilar was the hero for Ginebra in Game 3 as he hit the game-winner that gave the Kings a 2-1 series lead against San Miguel Beer in the semifinals of the 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup!

The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings picked up a huge victory after Japeth Aguilar sank a wide-open jumper from the baseline that just beat the buzzer for a 97-96 decision in Game Three of the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup on Friday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Import Justin Brownlee the way with 25 points while Aguilar finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and four blocks for Ginebra, which now leads the best-of-five series, 2-1.


LA Tenorio barely missed a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists while rookie Scottie Thompson did finish with a triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Sol Mercado also finished with nine assists, including the one that led to the game-winner from Aguilar.

LA Tenorio (GIN) - 20pts, 10rebs, 9asts, 3 triples.
Elijah Millsap (SMB) - 24pts, 12rebs, 4asts, 1stl, 1blk.
