Minnesota,
Houston, and Philadelphia all got their first taste of defeat today, even as
the Grizzlies kept the lowly Boston Celtics winless after four games.
The Best:
- Chris Paul was a dynamo against Houston, pouring in 23 points, 17 assists, and 2 steals while shooting 7/13 from the field. Paul led the Clippers to their third win in four games and into a tie for first place in the Pacific along with Golden State.
- Speaking of Golden State, the Warriors handed the upstart 76ers their first loss of the season, 110-90, behind the stellar play of new acquisition Andre Iguodala. Iggy shot 11/18 from the floor on his way to 32 points. He also made 7 of his 11 three-point tries.
- Aaand the second guy to get a triple-double this season is none other than Iggy’s own teammate, Steph Curry. Curry registered 18 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds on top of 5 steals and 2 treys as the Warriors got win #3.

The Worst:
- Nikola Pekovic had a hard time against the bigs of the Cavs. Pekovic shot just 3/12 from the field and scored just 8 points in 35 minutes.
- Another guy who continues to struggle this season is Boston’s Gerald Wallace. Wallace didn’t even take a shot in his 28 minutes on the floor for the Big Green as they squared off against Memphis. The 31-year old journey man is norming just 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists this season, while 35 minutes per game. His PER is a paltry 6.98.

OH (SportsNetwork.com) - C.J. Miles scored 19 points off the bench and the
Cleveland Cavaliers withstood a furious late charge from the Minnesota
Timberwolves to hold on for a 93-92 victory at Quicken Loans Arena. Miles went
8-of-13 from the field to help the Cavaliers bounce back from two straight road
losses after a season-opening win at home over Brooklyn, while dealing the
Timberwolves their first defeat following a 3-0 start. Minnesota didn't go down
easy, however, trimming a 23-point third-quarter deficit down to one on Kevin
Love's inside bucket with under a minute left. The Timberwolves had a chance to
complete the comeback when Cleveland's Kyrie Irving misfired on the ensuing
possession, but Love's 3-point try just prior to the buzzer fell off the mark.
Irving finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and six assists, with Tristan
Thompson recording a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs.
Minnesota shot just 5-of-28 from beyond the arc, with Kevin Martin accounting
for all five makes en route to a 23-point effort. Love, named the Western
Conference Player of the Week earlier in the day, totaled 17 points and 13
rebounds.

PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia 76ers were dealt a hard dose of
reality Monday. Andre Iguodala poured in 32 points against his former team
behind a personal-best seven 3-pointers, Stephen Curry recorded a triple-double
and the Golden State Warriors rolled to a lopsided 110-90 victory over the
previously unbeaten Sixers at Wells Fargo Center. Curry finished with 18
points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double and also
had five of the team's 18 steals. David Lee and Klay Thompson chipped in 18 and
15 points, respectively, for the Warriors, winners of two straight since
falling to the Clippers. Evan Turner and Michael Carter-Williams both netted 18
points in the loss, though it took the latter 17 shots to earn his total on the
day the rookie was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

(SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Conley scored 15 points and dished out eight assists
to help the Memphis Grizzlies edge the Boston Celtics, 95-88, at FedEx Forum.
Zach Randolph added 15 points and seven rebounds and Marc Gasol finished with
14 points for the Grizzlies, winners in two of their last three games. Jeff
Green scored a game-high 22 points and Jared Sullinger chipped in 16 points and
five rebounds off the bench for the Celtics, who fell to 0-4 on the year.
Final Score: LA Clippers 137, Houston 118

CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul continued his red-hot start to the season
with 23 points and 17 assists in the Los Angeles Clippers' 137- 118
wire-to-wire win over the Houston Rockets at Staples Center. J.J. Redick added
a game-high 26 points and Jamal Crawford added 21 points while connecting on
6-of-11 from 3-point range for the Clippers, who have won three straight after
a stunning loss to the Lakers in their season opener. Omri Casspi scored 19
points and pulled down nine rebounds and James Harden scored 15 points on just
6-of-16 shooting for the Rockets, who were handed their first loss of the
season.
