MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Filipino and South Korean cagers had been pitted against each other in
international basketball tournaments, especially in the FIBA (International
Basketball Federation) Asian Championships, where Korea thwarted the bid of the
Filipino contingent to enter the World Cup several times.
