- I’ve only seen them play three games so far, and of those three, they’ve only won one (a 62-44 win over the Letran Squires).
- This is CLEARLY a different team from the past few seasons. There is obviously no phenom here, but that doesn’t mean there are no marquee players.
- I am expecting the following to really step-up and lead the team this season:
o Cebuano Center Kris/Chris Porter (Senior): He should be the main anchor on offense, and is a double-double threat every game.
o Tomas Ramos (Senior): At his best, he could pass as a Wesley Gonzales knock-off.
o Kyle Suarez (Senior): Big man with dribbling skills. Should be a match-up nightmare at the 3 spot. If he played in the Zobel game, perhaps he could’ve contained Gabby Reyes.
o Lambert Tenorio (Senior): He’s no LA, but his hard work on the floor should give him a leadership role in the team. Outside shooting needs to be spot-on.
o Kiefer Lim (Senior): The designated floor-general. If Porter is the anchor, then this guy is the spark.
o Jed Austria (Senior): Undersized, but makes up for it with overflowing amounts of grit.
o Anton Asistio (Junior): Dead-eye shooter. Jai Reyes redux?
o Bolek Vitangcol (Junior): He’s gotta grow up, and fast. He takes up a lot of real estate, and, should he continue to improve, he could be our version of Kendrick Perkins.
o Jay Javelosa (Sophomore): The closest we have to a phenom. He’s 6’5” and still growing too.
- The Eaglets, despite their lofty summer league billing, will probably not be the top-seed this season. That, however, shouldn’t matter much. They’ll find a way to pull through and definitely make this season one to remember.
- One BIG Fight!
