The Gin Kings, thanks to Nate Brumfield's dominant performance, live to fight another day.

Ginebra was successful in keeping the Texters’ running game in check, which frustrated coach Chot Reyes to no end.

“We only had four fastbreak points. Namasyal yata sa Luneta ang mga players ko,” said the embattled TNT mentor.

The Kings leaned on a balanced attack as all their starters finished in double-figure scoring. Nate Brumfield proved his worth as the Best Import of the Conference by almost notching a triple-double as he thoroughly outplayed his TNT counterpart, Paul Harris.

Despite this, TNT did not give up without a fight. The Texters actually controlled most of the first half until Ginebra uncorked a 5-0 windup to take the lead at lemon time, 39-38. The Kings then kept TNT at bay and put the contest beyond doubt as  former Green Archer Mike Cortez hit a big three with about a minute to go in the game.

Scores:

Ginebra 100 - Brumfield 26, Caguioa 20, Hatfield 12, Intal 10, Cortez 10, Labagala 9, J. Wilson 4,
