How it happened: Ronald Tubid, Mark Macapagal and Jimmy Alapag outgunned the retired trio of Allan Caidic, Alvin Patrimonio and Ato Agustin in the Legends 3-Point Shootout right before the All-Star Game.

The young ‘uns started hot as Alapag beat Patrimonio, 12-10, then Tubid just outshone Agustin, 18-9.

Caidic then managed 12 points, all Macapagal needed to do was make two points for the victory. He made 13.

Chot Reyes cannot win every game. He may have two titles under his belt for 2011, but this time around someone else got the best of him. He now totes a 0-4 record as an All-Star coach.

Derby Ace’s Marc Pingris led all scorers with 24 points to pace the North All-Stars past the Southerners, 133-129. Pingris was also the one who canned the pivotal basket with only 12.4 ticks left as he received a drop pass from LA Tenorio of the Alaska Aces. Pingris was eventually named All-Star MVP.

Aside from Pingris, the North team saw great production from Arwind Santos and Willie Miller as they finished with 21 and 16 points respectively. Air 21’s Dondon Hontiveros led the South All-Stars with 19 points.
