AdU Soaring Falcons over FEU Tamaraws, 78-59
Well how about that? The entire Adamson starting five plus Eric Camson outscored the entire FEU roster. Who would’ve thought it possible?
Everyone knew this Adamson team was good, experienced, and well-coached, but to bamboozle the Tamaraws the way they did yesterday? Not in anyone’s wildest dreams.

By doing just that, however, these Falcons just made a soaring statement aimed at the rest of the league – they gave the defending champions all they could handle last week and now they ran last year’s bridesmaids out of the Big Dome. Coach Leo Austria’s wards are out for blood, and Alex Nuyles is their undisputed leader.
Nuyles scored a bunch of points to start the contest and helped finish off the Tams in the fourth quarter, surprising not a few observers who probably thought FEU, especially after dominating DLSU in the opener, would nail its second straight victory.
So what does this win mean? I cannot overstate it enough – the Adamson Falcons realize this could be their last legitimate chance at a championship, and they’re willing to pull out all the stops.
If the Falcons continue playing the way they did yesterday – with Nuyles leading the charge, Eric Camson busting out a double-double, Austin Manyara being a solid defender underneath, and Lester Alvarez NOT missing a truckload of shots – then coach Austria might finally have his shot at that elusive UAAP crown.
And what about coach Bert Flores and his Tams? Despite their top 3 players all registering double-figure scoring, it’s clear FEU will only go far if its supporting cast, well, ably supports. Terrence Romeo has got to score more than 5 points, and shoot better than 1-of-9 from the field. And at a combined 42 minutes played, Carl Cruz, Ping Exciminano and Mark Bringas all have to produce more than 4 points and 6 rebounds. They didn’t really miss Reil Cervantes and Pipo Noundou against DLSU, but those two sure would’ve turned the tide against Adamson.
