Kris Humphries seems to be doing well after his split from Kim Kardashian. |

“I told him that I wanted him to play like a starting power forward in this league and he played like that (Thursday)." – Nets Coach Avery Johnson describing Kris Humphries’s nice performance against the Indiana Pacers.
Kris Humphries, despite recently being named the most hated NBA player around, has quietly been having a career season. It’s not enough to get him the Most Improved Player Award (that SHOULD go to J-Lin if he continues on his upward trajectory), but it’s enough to make him a starting PF in this league as long as he stays with the Nets or they don’t get someone better.
The former Mr. Dash’s current stats have been, cumulatively, the best of his career – better than 13ppg, about 10.2rpg, and better than 1bpg in a career-high 34 minutes per outing.
He’ll never be the Robin to D-Will’s Batman. He’ll never help lead the present iteration of the Nets to any semblance of a playoff march, but he’ll keep his starting PF slot.
In many ways, it seems his NBA career is parallel to his short-lived marriage with Kim Kardashian – he got it “made,” but he also became sorta-kinda the laughingstock of a lot of people.
He’s the best big man on the Nets’ roster, but it’s a roster that’s the laughingstock of the Atlantic Division.
It’s not really a bad thing to be Kris Humphries, but one wouldn’t exactly dream of being him, either.
So, and this goes out to Jeremy Lin, if the rumors of Kim Kardashian wanting to hook up with you are true, then, please, just look at Humphries to get a glimpse of what lies down THAT road.
