Speeding Bullets:
- Ivan Villanueva should be one of the leaders of the CSJL Squires this coming season. The Junjun Alas look-alike should be a formidable force underneath  as Letran tries to challenge San Beda for the juniors plum.
- Arellano had a good win over the Pirates today, but can they get over the hump against the more established NCAA teams?
- Joel Tolentino made his debut for the CSB Blazers, forming a run-and-gun tandem with Carlo Lastimosa. Too bad the EAC Generals spoiled their party in overtime.
- Ateneo failed to protect its 16-point lead in the face of a blistering San Beda fightback. Baser Amer was great in this one, proving how bright his future is. We can probably say the same thing for the Red Lions this year.
- Once again, the Eagles let their foes get in close, but this time they paid for it with a loss. No way can they defend their UAAP crown unless they toughen up. Warning: steep learning curve ahead.
- My most anticipated match-up of the preseason (Arthur Dela Cruz vs Ryan Buenafe) didn't materialize as both weren't fielded. Boo.
