For three quarters, the Knicks were in the game and LeBron James was playing poorly and sitting on the bench. Luckily, the Heat had Dwyane Wade who took over the third quarter to give the Heat a 2-point lead. Then, the fourth quarter came and LeBron James checked into the game and went berserk. James showed the fans at MSG why he would be named MVP next week. It was over for the Knicks (game and series) in a hurry as James scored 8 quick points and the lead became 10. James scored 17 in the fourth alone to outscore the whole Knicks' team (14 points) and he finished with 32 pts, 8 rebs and 5 assists. The Knicks lacked the scoring punch to compete with the Heat in the 2nd half. Wade and James combined for 35 points while the Knicks managed just 30 points after halftime. The two superstars from Miami elevated their games after halftime while Melo simply could not rise to their level.

Some people believed that the Knicks were better without Amare. For 24 minutes, it did appear that the Knicks were playing better offensively and defensively without Amare. The proof was limiting Miami to 36 points in the first half plus the Knicks were leading during intermission. Too bad the Heat woke up after halftime and they (Wade and James) decided to shut the fans up and end the charade. The real Heat team came alive in the second half. The result was another blowout as the Heat won 87-70. Melo and JR Smith tried their best by launching 41 total shots and making only 12. The talent and teamwork discrepancy was so obvious that the Knicks just kept going on isolation plays that resulted in tough contested jumpers. Amare might play in Game 4, maybe even Jeremy Lin. But whoever plays for the Knicks does not matter as long as Wade and James play for the Heat.

Kevin Durant showed us why he is a MVP candidate. With his shooting stroke back, Durant demolished the Mavericks with 31 points on 11 for 15 shooting. The game was barely close as the Thunder never trailed in this game. Russell Westbrook provided ample support (20 points) and even Derek Fisher contributed with 10 points. This was an important game for the Mavericks but they barely showed up. That championship hangover from last year must still be lingering since the Mavs are meekly defending their title. It's still very early but a second round match between the Thunder and Lakers appears inevitable. Who does not want to see that?
