It’s great
that most of the guys on this list will continue to see action in the
postseason along with some other great playmakers who missed the top 5 cut like
Tony Parker, Ty Lawson, Mike Conley, Jeremy Lin, and, yes, Steve Blake.
Note: All of the following stats are based
on the last five games of each player’s team as computed by HoopsStats.com.
They were taken on April 18, 2013 (Manila time).
5. Goran Dragic (PHX) - 15.6ppg, 3.6rpg,
11.8apg, 2.8spg, 22.0 EFF
The only guy
who won’t see a lick of Playoff action, and it sucks because look at his
numbers. He scores, he assists, and he steals the ball! He’s like Euro Chris Paul!
Only he’s on a Phoenix team that will likely struggle well into 2015 (yes,
2015). What if he were still in Houston…

4. Russell Westbrook (OKC) - 26.8ppg,
5.0rpg, 5.8apg, 2.0spg, .853 FT%, 25.4 EFF
Speaking of
Houston, the Rockets are going to get a lot of face time with this guy. Maybe
the most athletic PG on the planet, Jet Zero is likely going to run over J-Lin
in their pivotal match-up. Westbrook has been playing some of the best
basketball of his young career, and we still haven’t seen him pass the ball
like we think he could. But he sure can dunk.
3. Deron Williams (BRO) - 25.8ppg, 9.3apg,
.493 FG%, .880 FT%, 26.5 EFF
I am super
happy one of my personal fave PGs is back on this list, and I am also happy he
will have the chance to stru even more of his stuff against a Derrick Rose-less
Chicago team in the first round. Though the Bulls are my personal pick out
East, I want to see Deron let loose simply because I want him to gain momentum
in preparation for the inevitable showdown with the Heat in the Conference
Semifinals.
2. Chris Paul (LAC) - 17.6ppg, 4.8rpg,
10.8apg, 2.8spg, .913 FT%, 27.4 EFF
What?!
Blasphemy!!! Paul is not the best right now? Why, yes, someone is better than
CP3. That’s not to say Paul has been awful, you know. He has been his usual
spectacular, do-it-all self. It’s just that, right now, someone is a tad better.
1. Steph Curry (GSW) - 30.0ppg, 5.0rpg,
7.2apg, 1.8spg, .500 FG%, .481 3pt%, .929 FT%, 29.6 EFF
And that
someone is the new King of Regular Season Three-Pointers Made. Steph Curry was
nothing short of mind-blowing in the past week or so. I mean, look at all three
shooting percentages. One word – UNCONSCIOUS. He’ll be hard-pressed to continue
doing it against a tough Denver team, but, hey, betting against Curry was a bad
bet this month, so why start now?
