Highly-touted rookie Stanley Pringle
enjoyed a great debut for the GlobalPort last night, although his production
wasn’t enough to tow the Batang Pier to the win. New coach Leo Austria,
meanwhile, also had a grand pro coaching debut, leading the Beermen past the
Elasto-Painters.

Game Capsules:
NLEX ROAD WARRIORS over GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER,
101-96
NLEX started strong, floundered in
the middle, and then ended with a great finishing kick to complete a
come-from-behind win over GlobalPort. Asi Taulava scored 12 of his 21 points in
the fourth quarter while also grabbing a total of 8 rebounds and handing out 5
assists. The big Fil-Tongan shot just 4/11 from the field, but he did connect
on 13 of his 17 free throws. Mac Cardona also did well, playing 40 minutes and
putting up 20 markers on top of 8 boards and 3 dimes. The Road Warriors
survived the combined 56 points of Terrence Romeo and Alex Cabagnot. 2014 top
overall pick Stanley Pringle, meanwhile, impressed with a solid line of 14
points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Kelly Nabong tried to anchor the
slot with 12 caroms in just 14 minutes. He was saddled with foul trouble.
Line of the Game: Terrence Romeo – 33 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2
triples

SAN MIGUEL BEERMEN over RAIN OR SHINE
ELASTO-PAINTERS, 87-79
Star ROS guard Paul Lee had to leave
the game early with a hyperextended knee, and San Miguel exploited this. The Beermen

Arwind Santos registered a nifty double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds
for SMB, which also drew great production from the pair of Marcio Lassiter and
Chris Lutz. The former Gilas players scored 13 and 11 markers respectively.

assists while shooting 6/7 from the floor. On the other end, coach Yeng Guiao’s
