The Rain or Shine bench took center stage in the clutch, and the reserves made big plays to lift the Elasto-Painters past Purefoods, 83-74, and extend their winning streak in the PBA Philippine Cup. Paul Lee lead the team in scoring with 18 points, but it was Gabe Norwood (11 points), TY Tang (11) and Jonathan Uyloan (9) making all the big plays down the stretch as Rain or Shine picked up a fifth consecutive win to improve to 7-2 for the season. Purefoods’ Joe Devance hit a basket to cut their deficit down to six, 80-74, but Norwood sealed the game by finishing on a transition basket plus an extra free throw after getting fouled with just 49 ticks left on the clock. Alex Mallari came off he pine to pace the Hotshots with a dozen markers, while James Yap and Devance dropped 11 and 10 respectively.
