MERALCO BOLTS over GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER, 86-84

Meralco import Josh Davis did everything for the Bolts against GlobalPort, including make a game-winning shot at the buzzer to down the Batang Pier, 86-84, to keep their PBA Commissioner’s Cup record pristine on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The game looked like it would go into overtime after GlobalPort’s Ronjay Buenafe hit a three-pointer, leaving just under four seconds to go on the clock. But Davis made a drive and pulled up for a floater just inside the free throw line to seal the win for the Bolts.
Davis finished with 33 points, 25 rebounds, and 5 steals to lead Meralco, which is now 5-0 to start the conference.
Gary David added 22 points off the bench to complement Davis’s big effort. He scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, while Davis had 12 to carry the team in the end.
New import Calvin Warner had 24 points on top of 16 rebounds to pace the Batang Pier, while Terrence Romeo and Jewel Ponferada added 14 and 10 respectively. GlobalPort sank to 2-3 in the standings.

TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS over BGY. GINEBRA GIN KINGS, 104-103

The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters made a tough stand in the endgame as they survived a dogfight with Barangay Ginebra, 104-103, in PBA Commissioner’s Cup action on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Jayson Castro was the hero in this one, posting 31 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists and making a key defensive play in the dying seconds to secure the win – the Tropang Texters’ fourth in five games this conference. Ginebra dropped down to 2-3 with the loss.
Import Richard Howell had 20 points and 17 boards, Ranidel De Ocampo scored 17, and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser added 15 to lift the team.
Talk ‘N Text went down by as many as 17 points in the second quarter, but they erased that deficit even before the halftime break.
Mike Dunigan dropped 30 points and 18 boards for Ginebra, while Mac Baracael exploded with 20 markers on the strength of 5 triples.
