RAIN OR SHINE ELASTO-PAINTERS over BARAKO BULL ENERGY, 134-132 (2OT)
Box scores.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters secured their entry into the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals after outlasting a gallant Barako Bull squad that fought to the final second, 134-132, in a double-overtime quarterfinal clash on Saturday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Paul Lee nailed the go-ahead basket with seven seconds left in the second extra period, breaking a 132-all deadlock forced by Barako Bull import Liam McMorrow seconds earlier.
Lee finished with 23 points, including 6 three-pointers, alongside 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Import Wendell McKines also had a big night, posting 36 points and 15 rebounds in the victory, while four other locals – Chris Tiu, Jeff Chan, Ryan Arana and Beau Belga – finished in double-figure scoring for the third-seeded Elasto Painters.
They joined the No. 1 seed Alaska, who already advanced following a win over eight-seed Ginebra, in the next round.
Liam McMorrow paced the losing side with 32 points and 23 rebounds, while Joseph Yeo also reeled in a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.
Line of the Game: Liam McMorrow (BAR) - 32pts, 23rebs, 2blks, 2asts, 10/15 FGs.

MERALCO BOLTS over SAN MIGUEL BEERMEN, 106-99
Box scores.
Seventh-seeded Meralco came out flat to start the game but made the big plays when it mattered the most as they defeated No. 2 San Miguel, 106-99, on Saturday to stave off elimination and force a winner-take-all clash for a spot in the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals.
Meralco saw a nine-point fourth quarter lead wiped away but proved steadier down the stretch as they closed the game on a 7-0 run.
Andre Emmett finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Jared Dillinger turned in an efficient performance, scoring 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field and a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.
Kelly Nabong also gave the Bolts a huge boost, finishing with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Luckily for San Miguel, they came into the series with a twice-to-beat advantage and will still have a chance to advance if they can win in their do-or-die clash on Monday.
Fajardo had a terrific performance for the Beermen, scoring 30 points on 9-for-11 shooting from the field and 12-for-15 from the free throw line. AZ Reid, meanwhile, recorded 21 points and 11 boards in the loss.
Line of the Game: Andre Emmett (MER) - 28pts, 10rebs, 4asts, 2stls, 1blk, 12/23 FGs.
