Looks like the Gilas team is finally getting their head in the game as the Olympics Qualifiers inch closer.
According to reports, Monday’s Gilas practice showed promising results since the training sessions began three weeks ago.
In the latest round of Gilas training, 20 players were present; among them were June Mar Fajardo, Ranidel De Ocampo, Calvin Abueva Jayson Castro, Gabe Norwood, and Ryan Reyes. LA Tenorio was also present, but sat out of practice after a tough Manila Clasico game against Star Hotshots.

Reports also say Mo Tautuaa — a candidate to play for the team as a naturalized player — was also present in the practice.
Coach Tab Baldwin, who has been disappointed with the progress of the practices, was happy with Monday night’s results.
“Happy with the turnout and I’m happy with what we’ve got through and what we’ve accomplished although they still need a little bit of pushing. They still are months away and the attitude goes with that still present. But I think we are making strides. I’m happy when we make strides,” Baldwin said to reporters.
The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament starts July, and the Philippines will be taking on tough opponents like France and New Zealand in their bracket.
This is a press release from FIBA.
