#PumpedUpKicks: More @adidasOriginals #NMD fire to come in August!!!

Without a doubt, the adidas Originals NMD series has been a game-changer in the sneakersphere. Since the NMD debuted in late 2015, it has been among the most sought-after and hard-to-find silhouettes in the market. My own personal favorites (though I’ve yet to cop a pair) are the OG black, the OG white, and the Women’s-only (whyyy???) Sao Paulo colorways. 

Now adidas is going to release not one, not two, not three, heck, not even eighteen, but, rather, NINETEEN (19) new colorways this month.

For sure, this will make sneakerheads the world over crazy af. Lines will form, blood pressures will shoot up, and so will reseller prices. It’s gonna be friggin’ insane.

And I cannot wait for all the bedlam to take place.

adidas Originals – Color BOOST NMD

This summer sees adidas Originals bring full color-blocking to the NMD model for the first time ever, opening up a world of color possibilities for its groundbreaking BOOST runner silhouette.

Taking a tonal approach to its first color-blocked release, two iterations of the NMD_R1 feature tonal details in Solar Red and Core Black, from the stretch-mesh construction and welded three-stripes to the heel patch, three-stripes and iconic BOOST tooling, whilst an accompanying NMD_XR1 silhouette assumes a striking two tone effect in shades of black, featuring micro-rib knit and premium material overlays. Tonal EVA plug inserts complete the design, rendering 2016’s most iconic footwear series in its purest form yet.

Marking the next stage in the evolution of adidas Originals' groundbreaking NMD, the NMD_XR1 continues the series' deconstruction of footwear traditions, blending classic sneaker components with progressive design perspectives into a clean, modern design.

The NMD XR1

Building on the winning design formula of the NMD series, the release stays true to the original blueprint with subtle updates. A microrib knit construction is developed with a two-tone pattern, strengthened by tonal overlays, including a premium heel patch in plush nubuck leather. Finished with full color-blocked tooling and tonal branding details, the result is an understated release with contemporary touches that embody the NMD philosophy.
