#NBA Ten Questions for the 2015-16 Season

The NBA regular season is just one day away from officially beginning. There's a lot of excitement and anticipation for all 30 teams. Here are some burning questions which can be answered during the course of the season. Let the games begin!

1. Can the Dubs Repeat?
Winning back-to-back rings is no easy feat in the NBA. Even the mighty San Antonio Spurs have not won consecutive titles. I'm not saying that the Dubs cannot win a second straight ring but it's very difficult especially when opposing teams bring their "A" games against them every night. It also hurts them that Coach Steve Kerr is ailing and his return from a back injury has no timetable. The Warriors could lose a few extra games during Kerr's absence and that could be the difference in deciding home-court advantage in the stacked Western Conference. The Dubs used home-court advantage to its fullest last season as they finished with a 39-2 record at the Oracle Arena during the regular season. GSW can repeat as champs but I'm not banking on that happening.

#NBA: Miami Heat 1st Round Pick, Justice Winslow Joins Adidas

PORTLAND, Ore. – adidas recently announced a partnership with Justise Winslow, the No. 10 overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. The versatile wing is heralded for his for strong finishes at the rim, lockdown defense and tough, physical play.    

“I’m excited to be a part of adidas,” said Winslow. “I loved playing in their basketball shoes at adidas Nations and what they’ve been doing with Kanye and Originals is changing the game. I pride myself in being the best player on the court and having unique style off it and adidas will definitely help me do both.”

Winslow joins the ranks of an adidas basketball roster highlighted by NBA All-Stars James Harden of the Houston Rockets, John Wall of the Washington Wizards, Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and 2011 NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.

The NBA: The Prodigal Son Has Returned

Back in June, after the San Antonio Spurs dismantled the Miami Heat in the Finals, I wondered if that was the end of an era. It was very possible but I did not believe that LeBron James or the others would leave South Florida. Even with all the rumors coming in earlier this week about LBJ going back to Cleveland, in my gut I still believed that he would choose to stay in Miami. Why would he leave a winning environment? Why go to a wild and messy situation? The Heat still offered him the best chance of reaching the Finals for a 5th straight season. His buddies (Wade and Bosh) were willing to absorb another pay cut to play with him in Miami while LBJ sought a max contract. Nah, no way he is leaving for another team.

The NBA: The End of an Era?

Is this the end of their partnership after going 2-2 in the Finals?

They came together 4 summers ago to conquer the basketball world together. They shocked a lot of people with their decision. They celebrated with their fans before the season started and they got hammered and criticized for that with no end in sight.

Were the criticism, scrutiny and pressure justifiable? Sure. In the world of constant sports updates and social media, thousands, even millions of fans can easily voice/type/tweet their hate, anger and frustrations aimed at the Big 3 and the Heatles. They had to endure and overcome all of that to achieve their ultimate goal of winning a ring. The Miami Heat won 2 rings in 4 seasons but there was a feeling that they should have won more (me included). Were two rings enough to call this experiment a success?

Is San Antonio the best NBA team of the 21st century?

Who's the best since the start of the new millennium?
The Lakers (top)? The Heat (middle)? The Spurs (bottom)?

That was the average point difference in each of the wins of the San Antonio Spurs in the 2014 NBA Finals. That’s the biggest average winning margin in NBA Finals history.

And they did it against the team with the planet’s best basketball player.

Many might contend that the last five games of the 2013-2014 NBA season weren’t really contests in as much as they were clinics. That’s how dominant the Spurs were here, dethroning the Miami Heat in five games and stifling their desires for a rare three-peat. It was a title-clinching run done with such ruthless efficiency that it ended sooner than everyone expected. The defending champs were made to look like chumps, dominated in such unprecedented fashion since the Big Three brought their talents together in 2010.

Nobody should have been able to embarrass the Heat. Not in the Finals, of all places. Not at the American Airlines Arena, where they went unbeaten in the first three rounds of the postseason.
