#PLAYPINOY allows
Filipino youth to showcase their skills and passion for the game
Manila, Philippines, 7 August 2014 – Nike brings the spirit of Filipino basketball to a
new level with the #PLAYPINOY
tournament, inviting all basketball crazy teens in Manila to take part. The #PLAYPINOY tournament is a fast-paced
and unconventional 5-on-5 pick-up style tournament for the youth.
“#PLAYPINOY is a platform to enable the youth to embrace their
basketball roots and express their love of the game,” said Courtney Cole-Faso, Country
Marketing Manager for Nike Philippines.
“Nike is a firm believer in encouraging young people to lead an active
life, and while we know that many Filipino youth play basketball, we want to
give them the chance to show off their skills and celebrate the unique Filipino
style of basketball”.
The tournament will run over three
weekends, Aug 16 – 17 and Aug 23 – 24 with the finals on Aug 30. Registration
begins on August 8.
