SAIGON HEAT over BANGKOK COBRAS, 77-69
The Saigon Heat’s home crowd was out in full force to support their team as they defeated the Bangkok Cobras. Both teams may be out of the playoffs, but it didn’t stop the players from still putting on a great game.
Jonathan Jones proved once again why he is a fan favourite when he finished as the game’s top scorer with 29 points and 14 rebounds for the Heat. Teammate Robert Sanz finished with 17 points behind him. Sanz also shot 57% from the 3-point line, putting in a couple of important threes that helped the Heat maintain the lead throughout the entire game. Jahmar Thorpe rounded out the Heat’s top three scorers with 14 points.
Gentry Lewis led the Cobras in scoring with 23 points and 15 rebounds despite being 3-for-13 from the free throw line. Chanachon Klahan also had a good game and converted 70% of his

WESTPORTS MALAYSIA DRAGONS over CHANG THAILAND SLAMMERS, 94-79
With the Indonesia Warriors and the JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers breathing down their necks, the Westports Malaysia Dragons wanted to make sure they got the win in this game. Despite already being out of the playoffs, though, the Chang Thailand Slammers did not make it easy for them.
Tiras Wade led the Dragons in scoring with 33 points and Brian Williams recorded another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Patrick Cabahug had a spectacular game as he shot 67% from the field to record 22 points.
The Slingers’ Calvin Williams had a game-high 34 points followed by teammate Christopher Garnett’s 16.
Cabahug stepped up for the Dragons as he opened up the fourth quarter by driving through traffic to complete a layup then following that with a three. At the 8 minute mark, the Dragons had already erected a 13-point lead. In the final two minutes, Kwan Yoong Jing proved his worth as he rose up with a fantastic block against Darongpan Apiromvilaichai and followed that with back-to-back baskets to help the Dragons seal the win.

AIRASIA PHILIPPINE PATRIOTS over JOBSTREET.COM SINGAPORE SLINGERS, 90-84
Anthony Johnson took his team on his back and scored 20 points in the final 10 minutes to help the Patriots get a come-from-behind win over the Singapore Slingers at the Ynares Sports Arena.
Johnson finished the game with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Nakiea Miller had a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Patriots ended the Slingers’ playoffs hopes.
The Patriots were down 53-64 with 09:45 left after a basket from Louis Graham. Then Johnson, who only had 6 points through 3 quarters, went alive and sparked a 13-2 run, in which he contributed 9 points, to make it 66-all with 7:09 left.
Things got worse for the Slingers when Ardy Larong, Johnson, and Miller made three straight three-point shots to make it 81-69 with 4:01 left. The Slingers, however, did not give up. They managed to make a late 15-6 run that trimmed their deficit to 87-84 after a Graham free throw.
With 29 seconds left, the Slingers got the ball back after Al Vergara was charged with a five-second violation. Unfortunately, Kyle Jeffers, who had 25 points in the first half, was not able to tie the game with his three-point attempt. The Slingers were forced to foul Miller, but he only managed to convert one out of his two free throws to make it 88-84 with 23 second left. The Patriots secured their 15th win of the season after Don Dulay missed a three-point shot and Johnson made two free throws with 6 seconds left on the clock.
Jeffers was held to only 5 points in the last 20 minutes after having his way in the first half. Jeffers finished by scoring a season-high 30 points and 15 rebounds. Graham added 20 points and 12 rebounds.
The Slingers are out of the playoffs race with this loss because, at best, they can end the season with the same record as the Indonesia Warriors, who have the lead in their season series.

INDONESIA WARRIORS over BANGKOK COBRAS, 99-79
The Indonesia Warriors clinched their playoff berth and now look to enter the playoffs with a great deal of momentum after extending their winning streak to four-games by defeating the Bangkok Cobras at the Chulalongkorn University.
Evan Brock led all scoring with 29 points for the Warriors’ well-balanced offense, where six players finished in double-digits. Mario Wuysang finished with 17 points and Stanley Pringle added 14 points for the Warriors, who will end their regular season on Sunday against the JobStreet.com Singapore Slingers at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
The Warriors are still on fourth position and have the same record as the Westports Malaysia Dragons, who are currently at third. The Dragons have the lead in the season series, but the Warriors still have a chance to grab third position if the Dragons slip up at home against the Slingers on Wednesday May 9th and the Warriors can beat the Slingers next Sunday.
Gentry Lewis finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Bangkok. Marvin Cruz and Chanachon Klahan added 16 and 14 points respectively. The Cobras end their season at home against Saigon Heat on Sunday May 13th.
