The Clippers lost their ten point lead in the dying seconds as the Grizzlies unleashed an 11-1 run in a span of 4 minutes. The game was tied but the ball was in the hands of their superstar, CP3 and he was plotting what to do for the final shot. Paul dribbled to his right and drove to the hoop while the best perimeter defender of the Grizzlies, Tony Allen covered him like a blanket. Paul did not miss the shot yet the game went into overtime because he was not able to launch a shot. The time expired while CP3 bobbled the ball. He was bad in that last possession. The overtime period was a different story. Too bad for the Grizzlies because Chris Paul was money in overtime. He scored eight points (27 pts, 9 rebs, 7 assists) and led the attack while Blake Griffin fouled out midway in overtime. This was a heartbreaking loss for the Grizzlies who clawed back to tie the game even though Rudy Gay was shooting horribly (8 of 25) and Marc Gasol was ineffective (8 pts, 5 rebs). Mike Conley scored a playoff high 25 points with 7 rebs and 8 assists. Conley went head-to-head versus Paul and he practically matched CP3 for four quarters. The overtime frame belonged to Paul and now the Clippers are one win away from facing the Spurs.

In the earlier playoff game, the Spurs completed the sweep against an over-matched Jazz team. The Spurs led by as high as 21 but the Jazz made a run to cut it to four and that was the closest the Jazz could get. Manu Ginobili busted out from his mini-slump and paced the Spurs with 17 points. The deepest bench in the playoffs dominated the Jazz reserves 57-10. Gary Neal and Tiago Splitter outscored the entire Jazz bench. The Spurs were clearly the better team and they did not waste any time in showing their superiority. The Jazz tried their best and played with a lot of effort and intensity. They out-rebounded the Spurs by 14 boards and blocked 8 shots but their long-distance shots would not fall. The Spurs outscored them 30-0 in points from threes and that's the ballgame. The Spurs are advancing to the next round, unlike last year when they fell to the Grizzlies. Their next opponent will either be the Clippers (most likely) or Grizzlies. Either team provides a worthy adversary for the SA Spurs.

#Tweet/Quote of the Night
"It's Chris Paul. He made his name off doing that. He's a tough guard. We can try and make it tougher on him, but still he's going to make plays and make his teammates better. That's what he's been doing."
-Rudy Gay
