The game was tied at 91 and the Clippers had the ball with less than 14 seconds left in the game. Everyone watching knew that Chris Paul would have the ball in his hands to decide the outcome of Game 2. It was up to Paul to create a shot attempt for himself or pass to an open team mate. I doubt that Coach Vinny Del Negro even called for a play. Maybe the play was "Give him the ball and get out of the way". Whatever it was, it worked! CP3 drove to his right and eluded (or pushed off) 2 defenders (Tony Allen & Darell Arthur) to make a bank shot that beat the final buzzer. CP3 scored the final 8 points for the Clippers, none more impressive than his game-winning shot!

The Grizzlies were grinding as usual and they managed to tie the game in the 4th after being down by double digits. Tony Allen and Mike Conley had superb games to make-up for their so-so performances in Game 1. The starting back court duo combined for 44 points, 10 assists, 13 rebounds and 4 steals. They almost got a win in Staples Center to tie the series at 1-1 but Chris Paul had other plans. The Grizzlies played much better tonight by keeping the rebounding differential close and by going to the foul line (23 of 34).

Joakim Noah played 25 minutes which was 12 more than his total in Game 1. That was more than enough for the Bulls as they defeated the Brooklyn Nets 90-82 to knot the series at 1 and claim the home-court advantage. Noah finished with 11 points, 10 boards and 2 blocks while enduring a foot injury. Noah displayed great intensity and provided hustle that was unmatched by the Nets. Noah dived for loose balls and battled for rebounds against Lopez and Evans. The Bulls were +5 in rebounding and held the Nets to 82 after giving up 106 in the last game.

The Sixth Man of the Year was announced today and JR Smith of the New York Knicks was the winner. Smith deserved the award after getting hot in the last 2 months while Jamal Crawford somewhat cooled down after the All-Star break. Crawford was very disappointed to have lost that award and he showed the audience why he should have won instead. JCrossover provided several dazzling moves and he displayed his uncanny dribbling (crossover) skills during the 2nd quarter where he scored 13 points on 6-6 shooting. Crawford helped the Clippers get a 6-point lead at the half.

(Sports Network) - Joakim Noah had nine points, six rebounds and one block in
the fourth quarter, as the Chicago Bulls held off the Brooklyn Nets, 90-82, to
even this first-round Eastern Conference playoff series at one game apiece.
Noah, who continues to play through a painful right foot injury, ended with 11
points, 10 rebounds and two blocks for the fifth- seeded Bulls, who bounced
back from a 106-89 defeat in Game 1 on Saturday. Luol Deng added 15 points, 10
boards and two blocks for Chicago, which shot 48.1 percent from the field.
Carlos Boozer and Kirk Hinrich each had 13 points, with the former also pulling
down 12 rebounds. Brook Lopez ended with 21 points and three blocks for the
Nets, who were trying for their first 2-0 lead in a playoff series since 2004
when they swept the New York Knicks in the first round. Joe Johnson and C.J.
Watson tallied 17 and 10 points, respectively, for Brooklyn, which shot 35.4
percent from the floor. The third contest of this best-of-seven series is set
for Thursday in Chicago.

remaining and the Los Angeles Clippers snuck past the Memphis Grizzlies, 93-91,
in Game 2 of this first-round Western Conference playoff series. Marc Gasol's
slam with 13.9 seconds left tied the game at 91. Following a timeout, Paul
drove to the hoop and made a running bank shot to give Los Angeles a 2-0 series
lead. Paul ended with 24 points and nine assists for the Clippers, who won by a
112-91 margin in Game 1 on Saturday. Blake Griffin tallied 21 points and eight
rebounds. Mike Conley had 28 points and nine assists to pace the Grizzlies, who
trailed by 12 early in the fourth quarter. Gasol donated 17 points and seven
boards, while Tony Allen finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Game 3 of
this best-of-seven series is set for Thursday in Memphis.
