also collared 19 rebounds and blocked 5 shots, even his herculean effort wasn’t
enough to tow the Aussies to the top of Group B. Humphries was the only guy to
score in double-figures for coach Mark Watkins. Erstwhile top scorer Dejan
Vasiljevic was shackled to only 2/12 FG shooting. Canada’s Jamal Murray finally
broke out of a slump, draining 25 points to lead his squad in its second
triumph. He was backstopped by Howard Washington, Jr., who recorded 18 markers.
The Boomers fell to third in the standings due to an inferior quotient.

Newman also scored 16 markers. Diamond Stone continued to be dominant in the

which was dominated by La Torre’s versatile play on both ends. Santiago Yusta
was the lone Spaniard in double-digits with 15 points. Coach Andrea
Capobianco’s wards played good defense in this game, forcing Spain to commit 25
turnovers. Spain battles Argentina in the round of 16, while the Italians

remained undefeated. Lucio Delfino, Martin Fernandez, and Maximo Fjellerup all
had chances to give Argentina the needed points in the dying seconds, but they
all misfired. Fjellerup and Ayan Carvalho paced the Argentines with a combined
29 points.
