Aside from Taiwan Blue, Jordan is the only other team still left unscathed after two days of action. Al Nashama beat World-Cup-bound Egypt, 74-61, thanks mainly to the backcourt duo of Mousa Al-Awadi and Wesam Al-Sous, who paired up for 29 points. Big man Mohammad Shaher Hussein also did well with 13 points and 8 boards. Ibrahim El Gammal led the losing side with a game-high 26 markers on the strength of 4 triples.

KOREA over TAIWAN WHITE, 87-84

South Korea, represented by KBL champs Ulsan Mobis Phoebus, held off a gritty Taiwanese B-Team thanks to the efforts Ricardo Ratliffe and Moon Tae-Young. Ratliffe dropped 32 points, 22 rebounds, and 3 blocks in 39 minutes of play while Moon, who was left out of the national pool, scored 20 points in 33 minutes of action. This was a tight contest all the way even with Korea opening up a 9-point lead in the third quarter. Taiwan battled back but just fell short. Promising young players Chen Ying-Chun and Chou Yi-Hsian led the home team with 18 and 15 markers respectively.

IRAN over JAPAN, 79-72 (OT)

The tournament’s first overtime game saw Iran’s young squad topple an equally young Japanese side thanks to the dominant play of 6’8 24-year old Mohammad Hassanzadeh, who registered 27 points on 10/17 FG shooting while also grabbing 17 rebounds. He was backstopped in the paint by another young big man, 6’10 22-year-old Meysam Mirzaei, who recorded 7 markers and 11 boards. Iran grossly outrebounded Japan here, 65-22, thanks to those twin towers. As expected, Yuki Togashi led the Hayabusa with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals, while Ryumo Omo and Kenta Hirose combined for 5 triples and 25 markers.

TAIWAN BLUE over USA, 85-70

Taiwan’s A-Team had an unexpectedly easy time against the Americans, who were hoping to capture the diadem in this competition. After trailing by 6 at the end of the first period, Taiwan sprung a 22-10 run in the second quarter to take the initiative and they never looked back. Jet Chang, comebacking from an injury that prevented him from playing for the better part of the past year, led the hosts with 23 points while Quincy Davis added 20 markers, 9 caroms, and 2 swats. Four players socred in double-figures for Team USA, led by Cory Bradford’s 21 points on the strength of 3 treys. Perhaps the only real tests remaining for Taiwan Blue now are Jordan and Iran.

Sir Enjo, is this Egypt team practically the same team that competed in Afrobasket 2014, and is this the team that's going to Spain ?
