- As expected, Sinag Pilipinas was hardly challenged by the hapless Laotians, who fell behind by 32 after the first ten minutes and never really could gain any momentum. The Pinoys had 20 steals here, which led to 34 points off turnovers. Not surprisingly, they also ruled the boards, 67-23, and recorded 35 assists to just 2 for Laos. Troy Rosario and Ray Parks spearheaded hostilities for Sinag with 19 and 18 points respectively. Lengthy pairing Kevin Ferrer and Russel Escoto, meanwhile, combined for 32 points and 16 rebounds. Laos was paced by 11 points from Phouthong Labouaphieng.

MALAYSIA over INDONESIA, 59-36

- What was billed to be a tight contest turned into a blowout after the break as Malaysia outscored the Indons, 19-9, in the third period to erect a double-digit lead that their foes couldn’t overcome. The taller Malaysians dominated the interior, scoring 38 points in the paint compared to just 8 for the Indons, who fell to 0-2 and are probably out of the running for a berth in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, unless they can upset Singapore tomorrow. Respati Pamungkas led Indonesia with 18 points, but he turned the ball over 5 times. The victors were paced by the frontline of Ivan Yeo and Tian Yuan Kuek, who scored 15 and 16 markers respectively. Yeo also added 13 rebounds in a sterling effort.

SINGAPORE over BRUNEI, 74-26

- Hosts Singapore, despite not being at its sharpest, still dominated Brunei and continued its undefeated start to the tournament. The home team shot just 43% from the field, but they compensated by outrebounding Brunei, 43-32, and forcing 41 Bruneian errors on the strength of 25 steals, bannered by 8 thefts from Qing Huang Toh. Kelvin Lim led the winners with 13 points in 18 minutes, while big man Delvin Goh added 12 markers and 8 boards. On the other end, frontcourt player Zainul Hussin put up 17 points and a dozen rebounds for Brunei.
