Box scores.
The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters led by as many as 40 points as they cruised to a lopsided victory over expansion team Blackwater, 123-85, in a PBA Governors’ Cup clash on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Wendell McKines had a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds, while five local players finished in double-figures as Rain or Shine improved to 2-4 for the conference. Cellar-dwelling Blackwater fell to 1-6. Paul Lee set the tone early for the Elasto-Painters, scoring all 13 of his points in a stellar first quarter showing.
Several others stepped up for Rain or Shine after that. Jervy Cruz finished with 15 points, Jeff Chan added 12, while TY Tang and Beau Belga added 11 and 10 respectively in a balanced showing for the squad.
Three other ROS players – Jericho Cruz, Jeric Teng and Raymond Almazan – scored at least eight markers.
The Elasto Painters put up 61 points on the scoreboard in the first two periods despite having only one player, Lee, in double-figures. Their import, McKines, only had 7 at that point. There was no letup in the second half, though, as they pushed their lead to a high of 40 in the fourth quarter.

BGY. GINEBRA GIN KINGS over GLOBALPORT BATANG PIER, 111-108 (OT)
Box scores.
The Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings escaped with a huge victory, outdueling a tough GlobalPort side, 111-108, in overtime to boost their chances in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Import Orlando Johnson posted 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Kings, while Japeth Aguilar chipped in with a double-double of his own, finishing with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

Caguioa also hit a big bucket in the extra period, scoring on a drive to the hoop to give the Kings a 109-108 lead with 12.3 seconds remaining. Ginebra’s new Asian import, Kim Ji-wan, finished with 11 as the team improved to 3-4 for the conference. The Batang Pier dropped down to 4-3 and were paced by Jarrid Famous’s 39 points and 28 rebounds. Omar Krayem and Terrence Romeo also put up 19 and 18 points respectively in the losing cause.
