NLEX ROAD WARRIORS over ALASKA ACES, 113-102

The gritty NLEX Road Warriors picked up a rare win in the PBA Governors’ Cup after getting past Alaska, 113-102, on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Imports Michel Madanly and Kwame Alexander each scored 28 points to lead the way for the Road Warriors, who picked up only their second win against four losses this conference. Alaska dropped to 4-2.
Madanly scored 22 of his total in an explosive first half while also tallying 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Alexander had a double-double after grabbing 11 rebounds in the contest. Asi Taulava finished with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Mac Cardona added 15 – nine of those in the fourth quarter.
On the other end, Romeo Travis notched 31 points to pace the Aces, while Cyrus Baguio exploded for 23 markers.

MERALCO BOLTS over TALK N TEXT TROPANG TEXTERS, 119-85

The Meralco Bolts put together an impressive performance against sister team Talk ‘N Text, routing the Commissioner’s Cup champions by 34 points, 119-85, to clinch a second straight win on Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Import Andre Emmett scored 36 points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from beyond the three-point line, while Sean Anthony also had a terrific performance, finishing with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists. With the win, Meralco improved to 4-3 for the Governors’ Cup while Talk ‘N Text dropped down to 3-3.
The Bolts dominated the fourth quarter, turning a 14-point game into an absolute blowout after firing off a barrage of three-pointers that put the game beyond reach. Anthony and Emmett each knocked down two and Gary David hit one and was sent to three free throw line shooting another as they outscored Talk ‘N Text, 36-16, in the final frame.
Steffphon Pettigrew paced TNT with 21 points and 13 boards, while Jayson Castro and Ranidel de Ocampo added 16 and 14 markers respectively off the bench.
