#PBA2016 Govs’ Cup Roundup: August 3, 2016

The 2016 PBA Governors’ Cup has two remaining undefeated teams, and one of them is the Mahindra Enforcer. THE MAHINDRA ENFORCER. Oh, and the other is TNT Ka Tropa.

TNT KA TROPA over NLEX ROAD WARRIOS, 101-95
Box Scores. 

The TNT Ka-Tropa made it four straight wins to open the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup after escaping with a tough 101-95 win over the NLEX Road Warriors on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Jayson Castro once again impressed with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists while rookie Troy Rosario tallied a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds alongside two blocks.


Import Mario Little also made big contributions. He scored 18 points, including a clutch three-pointer with 24 seconds remaining that helped seal it for the Ka-Tropa. TNT’s Asia import Michael Madanly added 10 markers.

TNT is now a league-best 4-0 in the conference while sister team NLEX slipped to 1-3.

Henry Walker led NLEX with 26 points, while Asi Taulava put up 14 markers.

MAHINDRA ENFORCER over ALASKA ACES, 101-95

The Mahindra Enforcer continued their surprising run in the Oppo PBA Governors’ Cup as they stumped the Alaska Aces, 101-95, for a fourth straight win on Wednesday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Despite trailing by as many as 16 points in the game, Mahindra closed Alaska out with a 13-2 run to claim another victim and keep pace with the TNT Ka-Tropa (4-0) for the conference lead.

Import James White dominated on offense with 32 points on 13-for-15 shooting from the field. He also grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out two assists, including a crucial one to rookie Keith Agovida in the final minute.

Aldrech Ramos added 14 points, KG Canaleta chipped in with 13 markers while Agovida scored 11 to help the cause.

LaDontae Henton scored 33 points to pace Alaska, while Calvin Abueva added 21 markers.
